Happy it helped Nim! Here are answers to your questions:

  1. I took the photos of the consent forms at the beginning of the retreat, before we had to turn in our phones. I turned in my phone the same time I turned in the completed consent forms. I took the remaining photos at the conclusion of the retreat, when we got our phones back out of their locked bags — I was granted consent to run around the campus taking photos and so I did. :)
  2. Attending as a single female, I felt extremely safe. My retreat was located in a beautiful, nature-y, outdoorsy area where there was some wildlife (ants, snakes, etc). I imagine you’d run into the same critters that you would on any hike or walk around a park. Again, I felt extremely safe and as mentioned, males and females are separated so you won’t see/eat/sleep around any males if you are a female attending the retreat.
  3. I have completed the 10-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat one time to date. I’d be open to going to another one at some point… maybe next year! :)
